FRANCIS LITTLEFIEL D(+), Sen. (Edmund1), of Wells(*), "farmer,", "miller," and "inn-keeper," b. a b. 1619; m. 1st, prob., Jane Hill (Ralph, of Plymouth, Woburn, and Billerica, Mass.), who d. Dec. 20, 1646; 2d, ab. 1648-9, Rebecca (???), who was liv. as late as 1683. (*) The town of Wells seems to have been called Preston at some time, prior to 1650. (+) It is said that he was the richest man in Wells . He and his family built and managed mills, not only in Wells, but in Cape Porpoise and vicinity.
